The workaround is to change your shortcut to "C:\MyGameLocation\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
That should get you in until they fix the launcher.

Same thing happened to me. I opened the compatibility tab for the launcher and unselected compatibility mode. That fixed it.
