And all the others in & around the affected areas......
Are you guys okay? Has anyone talked to them to make sure they are okay?

Hihi! I spoke with Kahles a couple days ago and again last night. Hes safe, has power and dsl back, but never going to stay home for a hurricane of this magnitude again! I'll try to contact him tonight and let him know you are inquiring about him and that he should head over here and say hi!

Jaber here. I rode out the storm at home in Biloxi and came through in pretty good shape. We had some wind damage and had to run a few unsavory characters off at gunpoint for several nights after the big event. I guess it pays to research before buying a home. I live on a very tiny sliver of the city that is classified as Flood Zone C. Although surrounded on three sides by the gulf, Biloxi Bay, and the back bay, we did not have any water from the surge. My employer was hit by 36 feet of water however.
I hope the others faired as well as we did. The damage is not done justice by the images you see on TV. I walked across 4-5 feet of solid debris (think anything that could be used in home construction and add in furniture and family possesions) for four blocks to reach my sister's home in Long Beach. The only things left in her area and for miles in either direction were clothes hanging from bare trees. It was surreal.
