Out of game for awhile

Gonna be out of game for probably a month or so - my video card problem still isn't fixed and I've tried everything. On top of that, I lost my job this morning. So until I get a new job and new video card, I'm out. Just wanted to let the right people know and whatnot.

Hey guys,

I just talked to a friend of mine and he said he has a spare video card he isn't using and would let me use it. Assuming everything works out ok, I'm hoping to be able to keep EQ running and stable. See ya soon mebbe.

Just got a tip that maybe I have some corrupted EQ files. Either zone files and/or my .ini file. Which in a way would make sense also, seeing as I can still do everything else with no problem. Just need to find out which files are the zone files. Wasn't as easy as seeing a folder "Zones", lol.

Just feel edgy about messing with the .ini ><; Here goes nothing though`

*Update*

EQ files werent the problem, which I half0way expected. Anyhow, I tried the video card that my friend had (Radeon 9200 128mb) and on boot-up my PC made some beeping noises and the monitor never turned on. =\

Looks like I need to go out and buy one. I have the money for it now so we'll see what the local shops have. See ya guys.

you probly hvae already done this but you checked the wires and made sure the card was seated?

Don't count that card as dead so quickly. Try it on another computer, there's many things that could cause a bootup failure, only 1 of them is a dead vid card.

Hey all -> just an update here: In a turn of events, my old manager gave me his old PC for parts and actually now have a decent system. It's stable so far as well. I'm installing EQ now and if everything works out ok, I'll be back in game tomorrow =)

lol I'll be there if I can Chubz - however this comp only has 256 ram...I'm too much of a pansy to install this 512 stick I have sitting next to me right now. SO if I lag out and we all die.../cough
