Browsers
A while back (maybe 3 years or more) there was this neat thing called competition with web browsers. They even had a cool name for it: The Browser Wars.
At some point, Microsoft won and basically stopped updating their software....I don't remember the last time they released an update but its been years...
Since that time, mozilla has been in the background steadily updating and upgrading. Well, they've just released a new browser called FoxFire.
Some of you may not even care, but I think its pretty darn cool.
LINK IS HERE
Cool Features:
** tabbed browsing (click on that mouse wheel of yours)
** interactive bookmarks (very nice for news sites)
** extensions
** themes
** popup/ad blocker
** google search toolbar item
** webpage find (CTRL-F) is kick butt too
Let me just say that while all of these features are just bells and whistles for the most part, I really love tabbed browsing.

Ive been using firefox for a while and it's great! Until you run into stuff that doesnt support it! I have found tons of sites that you cannot use firefox on. Either it crashes or some of the content isnt shown. Unfortunately, Microsoft won the browser wars and now pretty much every web site is designed with IE in mind.

http://slashdot.org/ looks crappy in firefox, the left nav bar is on top of the center stories. Other than that I really like firefox, been using it a long time, Opera before that.

I haven't had any problem with slashdot either. In fact, it's got a button on the bottom right that I love! Its sort of an interactive/live update bookmark for all of the stories on slashdot. Or, crazy!!, you can have all of the stories open in their own tabs.
Seems like slashdot was sort of built for FF browser...

I suppose it's possible its just me but I doubt it. I have had many sites crash on me with firefox, whereas if I load them with IE I have no problem. Mostly it happens when flash is involved. One of the sites I have the most problems with is verizonwireless.com. I can't look at the phone flash demo's without crashing, and if i go the the get it now area and look at games for example, the previews won''t even load. There are ton's of personal web pages I have visited that crash instantly too. Yes, I am using the new version. In fact im using it now to reply to this thread
