Update on Natol
Hey everyone, this is Kanissa, Natol's girlfriend, for those of you who aren't up to date on his social life
Last night, Natol fell on some ice outside our apartment and managed to exquisitely break his leg--a spiral break in both the tibia and fibula (that's the two bones in your lower leg, for you non-dorks out there). We spent 6 hours in the emergency room last night, and they finally were able to get a room in the hospital cleaned for him around 1 AM, so I went home. He's going to need surgery but they couldn't fit him in today. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon. He's in a lot of pain.
I'm sure he would appreciate any healing thoughts you would send his way. The morphine isn't quite enough.

Nice to meet you Kanissa. I am sooo sorry to hear that about Natol. The exact fracture happened to me awhile ago ... compound, spiral,
fracture of the left tibia and fibula. I had to have a rod put in for awhile,
which he might have to have also, it has something to do with the muscles and tendons. Mine broke down right above the ankle and took approximately a year to heal. I had lots of troubles he probably won't have (fingers crossed) I think depending on where the fractures are. I
finally ended up , after some bone replacement from my hip bone, using
a TENS (electrical stimulation machine) finally fixed it. ) Although tell him he will be able to feel weather changes coming. Tell him I hope he feels better as soon as possible and to use pain meds if he needs them,
supposedly you heal faster.

Latest news: Surgery is scheduled for 4:30 this afternoon. (FINALLY!) The doctor said the delay was because they had to order some plates that were the right size--apparently the break extends down to his ankle, so they can't use rods.
Thank you everyone for your kind words (except the gnome...); I will be sure to pass them on.

Hey guys got home a couple of hours ago. Still in a metric ton of pain........but they did give me a good supply of quality drugs Hope to have the other surgery on Fri or Sat .......depending on if the swelling goes down enough to allow him to go back in. Not sure when I will be back on since I'm SUPPOSED to keep my leg elevated above my heart........which means lots and lots of bed rest
