Re: Everquest Vs Al-Qaida
What I mean is that what these supposed robin hood types are doing is actually more damaging than anything Sony has done. You can't justify hacking into Sony computers and stealing millions of paying customer's information just on the grounds of Sony messing with several people. All they are proving is that they have too much time on their hands and should be focusing that energy else where. Should they get caught, which probably won't happen, they should get to spend six months or more in a jail without any technology. That will be fun.
I'm ok, how are you?

We want to thank you again for your patience as we work to get the SOE services back up and running. We received several questions and comments relating to the criminal attack to our network and would like to address some of the most common questions today. We are also going to continue to post updates to this website with new information as they become available.
We appreciate your continued patience and feedback.
Thank you,
Sony Online Entertainment
When will SOE's services be back online?
We have been working around the clock to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some of our games and services up and running soon. However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we believe that the network is secure.
How is the SOE intrusion related to the PSN/Qriocity intrusion? Was this a second attack on SOE?
While the two systems are distinct and operated separately, given that they are both under the Sony umbrella, there is some degree of overlap in design. The attacks were similar in nature. This is NOT a second attack; new information has been discovered as part of our ongoing investigation into the criminal attack in April.
How is SOE planning to notify customers whose data may have been stolen?
We are sending out customer service notification emails to the email addresses we have on file for the accounts that were affected. These emails will be sent by Innovyx, our third party email distributor, and contained either 'soe.innovyx.net' or 'soe.sony.com' in the sender field.
SOE initially thought no data was extracted, what changed?
Essentially the perpetrators used sophisticated means not only to access the data, but also to cover their tracks. We committed to continue the investigation and in doing so, uncovered further information that we did not have when we initially believed the data was not stolen.

Re: Everquest Vs Al-Qaida
I pray its up by the weekend. My worst fear is a month. I know there promising to reimburse for the time it takes till they get back up and a free months sub, but they should give us some in game freebies and a double exp week. I know its not their fault they got hacked but im not happy with the knowledge some dickwad hacker has all my personal info, wife's personal info (she opened freerealms accounts for the kids) and my 16 year olds info (from his ps3 stuff). Id love to see some of these robbin hood hackers get some jail time and repeated man love from Bubba there cellmate.

Re: Everquest Vs Al-Qaida
I have a 60/60 toon on runes of magic Reni server-- Game i was playing before i came back- its free to play till ya want to upgrade your armor and really do anything like lil raids and that. I dont wanna spend any more money on a temp game after just reactivating 3 accounts and buying 6 expansions hehe
On a side note - these games that you pay to upgrade (item shop or whatever) cost alot more then even 14.99 a month if ya paid for EQ the most expensive way. ROM has a different double class setup- so you actually lvl 2 class with the same toon. I lvld up the most enexpensive way i could- but after paying 40$ for a minor upgrade- then wanted to raid so it was another 100$. Then i was able to do some small raids and stuff but then discoverd i really needed another 100$ to be close to top of my class. Now when i made my toon i picked 2 classes that could wear same clothes so it was cheaper for me- but i really needed to spend a couple more hindred on the other side- to be a super strong duel class toon-- all that in about 10 months- so i said hell with and come back to eq where i enjoy the game more anyways.
Also non have had 12 years to work all the bugs out- rom is laggy and buggy as hell
Just my 2 copper

Re: Everquest Vs Al-Qaida
dungeons and dragons online(DDO) is free to play, its probably a long download though i cant remember i DLd it a year or so ago just to look at it on a patch day, and took me like 30 mins to patch it yesterday, i cant say much about it cause i have only poked around on it here and there i think you have to pay to play certain classes and such but never looked as i had no intention of ever doing so...
