redoing PC means downtime from EQ

Post by icecat »

WOOT good bye Vista and Hello Windows XP again. Anyone one know if Windows 7 is any good or not unlike Vista. ( IMO Vista sucks) with any luck i might be on for a few min yet tonight. I hope

I like win 7. There's a few fixable issues with eq, though. Most who didn't like vista are ok with win7, but I suppose it depends on what you didn't like about win 7

I have Win7 now and its working great. You always have a little bit of transition time you spend figuring stuff out but i won't say its a downgrade from XP.

I have grown to like 7 also. The thing I like the most about it is the 'homegroup' setup. I have 5 WIndows 7 machines and the homegroup really simplifies setting up stuff like shares and printers.

Just don't skimp on RAM... load the MB with as much RAM as you can.

Alt O (Options)

Display Tab - Advanced button

Lower left corner switch to balanced memory usage or if that doesn't work switch to low memory usage.

beyond that more RAM!

I took a significant hit too with VoA. I had my ISP come out the other day and reconfigure my setup. Pings are much better and chars load tremendously faster for me. You may try speedtest.net to see how your connection is performing.
