Yet another DDOS against SOE - er, Daybreak (9 July)

Probably old news, but just in case you are worried that problems connecting to EQ are on your end - no, another DDOS is hitting EQ as well as Daybreak's other games. Attack started a bit after 2 pm est/11 am pst today, 9 July.

While I certainly understand Smed's frustration with being personally targeted for identity theft, false tax returns, etc., I would think that if he ever looked at a forum for one of his games, he would know that there are more than a few toxic personalities out there - and that getting into a twitter pissing contest about one with links to a hacking group would be likely not to end well. <sigh>

And attacked renewed around 10:30 am est 10 July after about an 8 hour break.

Playstation was offline at Christmas for around 5 days - this may be a long temper tantrum.

I noticed a few of the loading screens go fine - but zoning into the world took 10 minutes before I killed my EQ again.

UPDATE July 10 5:45pm ET: Nothing official has been said in a few hours, but we're seeing occasional (and rare) reports of players being able to get into their game of choice. However, those managing to get into the games are experiencing heavy lag. Hope everyone has good plans for spending their Friday evening elsewhere!
