It is time once again...

Post by Matil »

Time for the Red River shootout. One of the biggest college games of the year. #2 Oklahoma vs #5 Texas. It is time to start seperating the men from the boys. It is ok to go ahead and start hating Texas. Those of us north of the Red River hate Texas all year so we don't have to catch up.

Throw in #1 USC vs #7 Cal and the college game really starts heating up. Last week already exposed some weak stick programs like West Virginia, and Ohio State who were over-rated.

I know Kyrro is out there, and more American football fans as well. I think it is time to stir up the pot a little.

Oh, and one more thing..

The only OU fans are alumni, everyone hates you guys. Recruiting violations are bound to come to light again shortly and you'll just fade back into obscurity.

So, college football is cool and everything, but what's up with this BCS or whatever they use to determine the actual champion? I want football, not math!

You sound like a UT fan Xenir.

Does not bother me if everyone hates us. Makes it stick in ya that much worse when we roll you.

I just know what the BCS people tell me, I have no idea how it works. I let them worry about the math. I think they are all wrong so far. Auburn is the best team in the country, Georgia should be #2. I don't think OU or USC could beat either one of them. SEC is by far the strongest conference this year.

Do you not realize that now that FSU has finally rid itself of the Chris Rix four year curse that we will be there at the end and we will have a say in who holds that trophy high at the end of the year?

HA. Floridians step up to the plate! With Sexton playing, and well as it appears, that makes the Florida/Florida State look more interesting. Though with a loss it is harder for them. If everyone at the top ends up with a loss again, then they are ahead of the game for sure since it is better to lose early than late.

I get excited this time of year. I enjoy college football more than any other sport at any other level.

I'm not a UT fan unless they're playing OU or pretty much any other higher ranked team.

More importantly I can't believe you'd call yourself a fan of college football then proceed to say the SEC is the best conference. Just because they have 5 teams in the top 25 doesn't change the fact that we're only 5 weeks in and most of those teams have only played 4 games half against AA opponents. Moreover, as an OU fan I just can't understand why you don't stand behind your own conference which is just as legitimate as the SEC.

SHAME!

Auburn is looking pretty good, yes.

Number one though?

Sorry, I'm back.
That was funny :)

Sorry Kilaer. I will post a warning next time that this is a sports post. Then you can skip the post and go back to your nekkid rugby players.

I love my Sooners. From what I have seen five weeks in, if Georgia or Auburn came to town I would not put my money on them winning. In the four non conference games, a lot of the Big 12 teams lost one of them to an inferior opponent. The Texas A&M loss to Utah was probably a quality loss, but Nebraska, K State, Missouri all lose to middle of the road (at best) teams, and these three are supposed to content for the Big 12 north? We will start learning some things about the Big 12 this weekend, but so far I am not impressed.

You are right Xenir, we are only 5 weeks into the season. The SEC has impressed me the most in those 5 weeks though. The Big 12 has had too many losses outside of conference to "schedule filler" type opponents.

Heh. I have not been home from work to look at that since it was posted. So it is not my drool. I am sure I would find swift and utter retribution from my employer if I look at it. Now that I know what it is before hand, I probably won't look at it once I get home tomorrow night.
